Case 3: Fraudulent Plaintiff's Right Side Weak with Paralysis

The policy holder and the third party liability carrier believe the Claimant is not as injured as he claims to be. Previous IME's have shown no objective medical evidence of why pain and weakness on the right side of the Claimant's body is evident. The Claimant self reports RSD as well as his medical experts support the samediagnosis. Due to the nature of the rural terrain, 4 miles off the main highway and without the ability to man a covert operative surveillance, Extant decides to utilize an unmanned tree cam after suspecting the Claimant is building a shed. Previous surveillance efforts distill the Claimant's inability to raise his right arm enough to shake the hand of the investigator. To the policy holder's and the carrier's benefit, the case is exposed for exaggerated injuries while the Plaintiff builds a shed for his yard tools. The result yields a substantially sharp decrease in financial reserves for the carrier and a nominal offer for settlement is made to the Plaintiff's counsel. The case resolves for $35,000 versus the projected  $550,000 reserve.
